Cambridge Skeptics In The Pub

Like such events in many other cities, they hope to hold a talk by a speaker each month – typically a scientist or prominent skeptic who will speak for around 40 minutes. The subjects of the talks vary, but they will typically be about a common belief that either cannot be justified by the available evidence, or can actually be demonstrated to be false by the available evidence.

Examples of these subjects are: alternative medicine, psychics & mediums, religious beliefs, holocaust denial, pseudoscience, creationism, and many other subjects from economics, politics to business. The talk is followed by an informal discussion. It does not matter what your prior beliefs are on these subjects. If you want to defend your beliefs and think scepticism is misplaced, then this is the evening for you. Have fun. They welcome all.
